Ruling Planets and Events within 24 HoursProf. Andrew Dutta Krishnamurti Paddhati is a crown among all the systems of prediction in astrological science. The rules of prediction are uniform across cases and the route of prediction followed is always the same. The modus operandi of this system is same for all sorts of prognosis and an applicant of this system need not get confused at all as to how to reach a concrete conclusion. In order to bring this clarity in this system of prediction, our great Guruji late Shri K.S. Krishnamurti invented two concepts, the credit of which is solely his. The first is the breaking up of a constellation of 13 deg 20 mins into 9 unequal divisions according to the Vimsottori Dasa proportion of planets. These 9 divisions of every constellation is called as the Sub-division or more popularly as the “sub”. It is this sub which acts as the determining factor in KP based prediction. Guruji’s second invention was the concept and use of Ruling Planets, popularly called as the RP. Guruji used to call the RPs as ‘divine indication’ because the RPs help a KP practitioner to correctly pinpoint events correct to the nearest minute. This article is an endeavor to discuss some fundamental principles of ruling planets where the use of RP was made in day to day life to pin point the time of an event correct to the very minute. To become an adept in KP based prediction methods one has to be well conversant with the use of RP. One of the best to understand the role of RP and how it behaves and gets linked with the event is to constantly use it in one’s own personal life in day to day events. Only then shall the actual role of RP come to the fore. As ruling planets, our Guruji originally gave 4 planets. In decreasing order of importance they are: Ascendant Lord Moon Star Lord Moon Sign Lord, and the Day Lord Here ‘Ascendant Sign Lord’ means the lord of the sign which is rising on the eastern horizon at the time when the judgment for the query is undertaken. Therefore, for the same time, the lagna or the Ascendant will differ in different places. For example, the ascendant at 10:30 am in Hyderabad would be different from that of Ahmadabad. So, it is necessary to ascertain the correct ascendant which is rising at the time and place where the astrologer is drawing up the ruling planets Even though Guruji originally advocated 4 ruling planets, later he suggested the inclusion of the 5th RP, which is the strongest in power, as the Ascendant Star Lord. Thus, ruling planet usually means, in descending order of power: Ascendant Star Lord Ascendant Sign Lord Moon Star Lord Moon Sign Lord, and the Day lord For pin pointing the time of events that are expected to happen within the next 24 hours, we need to see when a proper lagna sign, star and sub comes that contains in it the ruling planets that we received at the time of judgment. In other words, if one is expecting something to happen within the next 24 hours our focus should be to trace the ascendant that will comprise of sign lord, a star lord and a sub lord who were found in the list of RPs during judgment. This is because within 24 hours lagan moves over all the 12 signs, 27 star and 249 subs. Let me take the first example. On 24th February 2007, I came to know in my office that I will have to meet my Associate Dean on Monday 26th February 2007 for an important issue. My AD gave me a time of 9:30 am in the morning on Monday. Later on 25th, a Sunday, I thought why not I find out the exact time when the meeting will actually happen tomorrow? So, after my dinner that evening, I sat for finding out the time of meeting my AD the next day. The RP on 25-2-2007 at 9:50 pm in Hyderabad, Somajiguda was as follows: Ascendant Star Lord: Mars Ascendant Sign Lord: Venus Moon Star Lord: Mars Moon Sign Lord: Venus Day Lord: Sun Out of these 5 RPs I rejected Venus since it was in the star of retrograde Saturn. So, I was left with only Mars and Sun. Mars Sign Mesha started from 9:15 am the next day whereas Sun’s sign Leo started from 5:20 pm the same day. My office gets over at 5:00 pm, so I was sure that Sun’s sign will not be the time. Moreover, Leo does not have a Martian constellation. As a result, I had no alternative but to choose Mesha lagna as the sign when the time to meet will come. Next, in Mesha sign I looked for Sun’s star. I saw that Mesha sign and Sun star will operate from 10:45 am to 11:40 am. Therefore, to finally pinpoint the exact time, I chose Mesha sign, Sun star and Mars sub (because Mars appeared twice and was the only ruling planet) which started from 10:50 am. The next day when I was waiting outside my AD’s cabin, I was called inside for the meeting precise at 10 50 am on 26th February 2007. Many such incidences can be cited. However, upon close scrutiny it can be found that a few fundamental rules must be followed while using RPs for making predictions for events that are expected to happen within 24 hours. Some of the rules that hold good are as follows: 1. The lagna point must contain the ruling planets only. 2. The lagna sign star and sub lords should be chosen according to ‘first come first serve’ basis depending upon the hierarchy in which they appear in the RP list during the time of judgment. 3. A ruling planet is strong by virtue of its level of appearance and not how many times it has appeared. 4. However, when a ruling planet repeats itself, the lagna point must also contain the same repetition I hope this article will help the readers of KP Ezine to use RPs more fruitfully. I thank Shri Kanak Bhai Bosmia for being very kind and cooperative in publishing this article.
