Description

Good Characteristics must be followedI strongly believe that freedom is the essence of life. We can speak and do whatever we desire without any refrainment. When freedom is guaranteed, we can freely go and do the things we like without fear. But just because we are given such freedom, we tend to forget that obedience is a must especially in human life. There are limitations to every freedom because if you will not limit yourself from it, you might abuse these freedoms and it might affect others or yourself. As you noticed, most of the myths, we observed some freedom and obedience. Here is a quote from Charlotte Bronte saying that “ I am not a bird and no net ensnares me. I am a free human being with an independent will.” Daedalus and Icarus is one good example for this. Let us recall the myth about Daedalus and Icarus. Daedalus was a skilled worker, who was hired by king Minos because of his skills. But suddenly, an incident happened. He helped Theseus killed the Minotaur. By when the time that king Minos found out that one of the culprit was Daedalus, he was furious and he put him in the labyrinth together with his son. To be able to escape, Daedalus built a wings made of wax for the two of them and he then warned his son to follow his advice. Because of this physical freedom given to him. He became too overwhelmed and forgot his father’s stern advice and disobeyed him. Unfortunately, he did not survive because of his own actions. We can relate through this saying by Cris Jami, “The spirit of arrogance most definitely makes you shine. It paints a bright red target on your own forehead.” Daedalus was a skilled worker. He was an architect, inventor, artist, and sculptor. He’s also the father of Icarus, Uncle of Talus. He’s the one who killed Talus because of jealousy and envy. He also built the Minotaur’s labyrinth requested by king Minos. He was also locked up inside the labyrinth together with his son. And the one who made the wings for them to escape. Daedalus flaunts many aspects that made him renowned and stood out. Daedalus’ intelligence, creative mind and abilities made him a prominent artist. He is also courageous person because of his decision on escaping and took a risk. As what we can remember, King Minos “Humility is the ability to give up your pride and still retain your dignity. that’s where he made the wings for the two of them and escaped. Remember. Be humble and lower your pride.punished Daedalus for doing such thing that made him ferocious. we will not be able to learn things in our own. my challenge in life is how to deal with my school life to be able to achieve my goals. and wisdom of living within yourself.
