Tanim sa Kinabukasan (TSK) is an advocacy project that is aimed at teaching school kids improved techniques of planting vegetables and eventually influence them to love eating the same. It also aims to encourage the whole community, (parents, teachers, LGUs, and other stakeholders)to learn and appreciate the value of growing and eating vegetables thereby promoting food security, good nutrition, clean and green environment and creating livelihood opportunities. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM: 1. Introduce children early to the science, pleasures and benefits of vegetable planting and eating a. Experiential way of learning plant science, ecology, health and environmental consciousness, etc. b. Values education : self sufficiency, responsibility, patience, discipline c. Better nutrition : children learn healthy eating habots, ways to enjoy vegetables,etc. 2. Help improve school performance through better nutrition for the kids 3. Help increase vegetable consumption in the long term 3. Sense of ownership motivates kids to eat vegetables 3. Kids share their enthusiasm with their families, who will also want to eat what their kids harvest
