It has 2 forward facing speakers and there is a passive bass radiator on the back. The back of the speaker has an aux-in port, MicroUSB charging port, MicroSD card slot and on/off switch. On the top are volume/track buttons, play/pause and Mode/handsfree button. These buttons are identified by symbols on the black rubberized band that wraps around the top and sides 5. of the speaker.The specifications indicate this is 3W x 2 but the play volume of the speakers is lower than other speakers that I've heard with similar power rating. This is not unusual because power rating is not the definitive statement on loudness levels. This provides reasonable volume for personal use... as a latpop replacement speaker or simply a grab and go speaker. But don't expect room filling sound or anything that would be appropriate for loud environments. Sound quality is quite nice. The speakers provide a nicely balanced, warm sound. Not harsh or tinny.
