Access Level: TechConnect Date Created: 06/04/2009 06:00 PM Last Updated: 03/30/2015 03:55 PM Problem FactoryTalk View SE Redundant Primary HMI Server, Properties page shows the following status; "Active, Can't Reach Partner" The Redundant Secondary HMI Server status is; "Loading...". Environment The Windows Event Viewer Logfiles on the Secondary HMI server shows an error similar to the following: Rockwell HMI Framework "The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Rockwell HMI Framework ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Failed to complete the TagDB Sync action (41000).." For View SE v6.0 and earlier: Checking the size of the Secondary HMI Server's Project .DB file (in the Tags subfolder) shows it to be 201K in size. Attempting to restore the Project/Database to the Secondary HMI Server gives the following error; "HMI Server is running please shutdown the HMI Server before restoring" Answer The Primary and Secondary HMI Server Projects were not properly synchronized or the Project Database is corrupt. Use one of the following methods to copy the HMI Project from the Primary to the Secondary: 1. Use the Replicate button on the HMI Server's Redundancy tab. 2. Copy the Project from the Primary to the Secondary Use the HMI Backup/Restore Utility to backup the Primary Project/Database On Primary Server, go to the Redundancy tab, and turnoff (uncheck) Redundancy On Secondary Server, restore the Project/Database from the Backup file After the restore check the file sizes for the .DB file in the secondary project's TAG folder This should be the same size as the one on the Primary. If they are not the same, try to restore the files from a DOS command prompt instead of using the Backup / Restore utility NOTE If the HMI Backup/Restore Utility from Technote 30310 is used and the size of the .DB file still shows 201K, then either manually make a copy of the Primary's HMI server project or use WinZip to back it up On Primary Server, go to the Redundancy tab, and turnon (check) Redundancy After restoring the Project/Database to Secondary's HMI Server, if the problem persists, then reboot the Secondary HMI Server.
